Office of the Vice President for Research, Graduate Studies, and Economic Development
The ultimate responsibility for the University of Arizona is vested in the Arizona Board of Regents. All outside funds donated, granted or contracted for by the University are under the ultimate control of the Board of Regents.
As a practical matter, the execution of these responsibilities is designated to the President of the University. In the area of sponsored research, the President has delegated this responsibility to the Vice President for Research, Graduate Studies and Economic Development.

Andrew C. Comrie, Ph.D. was named Dean of the Graduate College, Director of Graduate Interdisciplinary Programs and Associate Vice President for Research in 2006. He is a Professor of Geography and Regional Development. He received his B.Sc. in Geography, his B.Sc. (Honours) in Atmospheric Science, and his M.Sc. in Environmental and Geographical Science from the University of Cape Town. He received his Ph.D. in Geography from Pennsylvania State University. |
