The Office of Technology Transfer provides protection, management, and transfer of University of Arizona-owned intellectual property to benefit society and to expand public-private relationships.
The mission of the Office of University Research Parks (OURP) is to create environments that support and promote research and education, technology innovation and commercialization, and business development and attraction. OURP created and manages the following:
- UA Science and Technology Park (UA Tech Park)
UA Tech Park contributes nearly $3.0 billion annually to Pima County’s economy and, with 7,000 employees, is one of the region’s largest employment centers. It hosts thirty eight business and educational organizations including four Fortune 500 companies. For fifteen years, the Tech Park has been advancing the University of Arizona’s efforts in technology development and commercialization, contributing heavily to the regional economic growth. The Tech Park has been nationally recognized as one of the premier university research parks in North America.
Arizona Bioscience Park (Bio Park)
The University's new biosciences park will provide facilities designed especially for companies working in biosciences, biotechnology, life sciences, and pharmaceuticals. The sophisticated and high technology spaces will be integrated into a multi-use development, including a hotel and conference center, retail and residential development.
- Arizona Center for Innovation (AzCI).
AzCI is a business incubator designed to meet the needs of developing technology companies particularly in the areas of aerospace, advanced materials and composites, information technology, environmental technology, life sciences and optics/photonics. The Center provides a structured program of business development that besides access to first class facilities also offers coaching, and networking opportunities.
